Under Alvarez coaching, Danell Leyva became the 2012 Olympic all-around broze medalist, 2016 Olympic parallel bars and high bar silver medalist, and the 2011 world champion on the parallel bars.<\/p>\n<p>By the age of seven, Alvarez earned a spot at Cuba&#8217;s national school of gymnastics, where he lived, ate, studied and trained. As a member of the Cuban national team, Alvarez specialized on floor, rings and high bar, and competed all-round when needed.<\/p>\n<p>Alvarez currently owns a successfully gymnastics club in Miami Florida called Universal Gymnastics.
