FORT WORTH, Texas — Amidst the electrifying atmosphere of the U.S. Gymnastics Championships at Dickies Arena in Forth Worth, Texas, Yul Moldauer, representing 5280 Gymnastics, added another feather to his cap by clinching his third national title on Parallel Bars.

Moldauer, a two-time world medalist, showcased his mastery on the parallel bars, tallying an impressive total of 30.800 over the two-day competition (15.400 on both days). His flawless execution and unwavering focus propelled him to claim the gold, marking his fifth U.S. national gold medal to date.

Not content with just one victory, Moldauer’s stellar performance extended to the floor exercise, where he secured a silver medal with a score of 29.300. His dynamic routines captivated the audience and judges alike, earning him yet another podium finish.

In the all-around competition, Moldauer displayed consistency and skill, finishing in a commendable fourth place with a two-day total of 168.200 (82.450 and 85.750). His exceptional versatility across multiple apparatuses reaffirmed his status as one of the nation’s top gymnasts.

On day 1 of the Championships, Moldauer faced adversity when, during warm-ups on High Bar, he suffered a crash and injured his hip. This setback could have impacted his performance on pommel horse and vault, as he experienced major falls in these events, ending the night in ninth all-around. However, on day 2, Moldauer showed resilience and determination. He hit all his routines flawlessly, climbing from 9th all-around to 4th place overall.

Reflecting on his performance, Yul Moldauer shared, “U.S championships is over. Overall I am pretty happy with how it went, but not satisfied. I know I can do better. I am glad that my hip injury wasn’t a serious one. It definitely was painful for the competition, but I am glad I have had a couple days of rest to let it heal up. I am just looking forward to trials now. I am beyond excited, and I am ready to play.”

In addition to his remarkable achievements at the U.S. Championships, Moldauer received news of his selection to the 2024-25 Senior Men’s National Team. This prestigious honor underscores his unwavering commitment and dedication to the sport, as well as his consistent excellence in competition.

Furthermore, Moldauer’s outstanding performance earned him automatic qualification to the highly anticipated 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials, scheduled to take place from June 27th to 30th in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As he prepares to embark on this next chapter of his gymnastics journey, Moldauer remains focused and determined to represent his country on the grandest stage of them all.
