The 2012 Olympic Gold medalist, McKayla Maroney, said she was sexually abused by the same team doctor who is already facing criminal charges for molesting other gymnasts. Maroney, 21, posted on Twitter early Wednesday morning that the doctor, Lawrence G. Nassar, began molesting her at age 13.
In response of the current leadership of USA Gymnastics failed in its responsibility to protect child athletes from sexual predators and failed to alert authorities to reports of sexual abuse as required by law. Manly, Stewart, and Finaldi have started a petition to change USA Gymnastics leadership on Change.org
